Michele B. Anderson, a selfless, generous soul, born Feb. 7, 1947, was called home to heaven on Feb. 5, 2020. Michele died resting peacefully at her home in Staten Island, surrounded by family and devoted friends. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. Michele Anderson, PhD, R.N., held a doctorate in psychology and M.S. degree in nursing. Early in her career, Michele worked at Vanderbilt and Metropolitan Nursing Homes as a director of nursing and served as president and business owner of ARO Community Services, recruiting nurses from all over the world to staff hospitals and nursing homes in New York and North Carolina. She retired in 2007, to begin a new chapter in her life as a doting grandmother. Michele is survived by her loving children, Nicole and son-in-law, Jason Hiler and "Her Son, Her Son, The Wonderful One," Erick and his wife, Chantal and her grandchildren, D'Anthony, Kyle, Shayne, Madison, Sophia, Mia, Chanelle and Nicholas. She was loved and cared for with unconditional love by Maribel. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an Animal Rescue Farm Sanctuary that provides lifelong care for all animals: Farm Sanctuary National Headquarters, P.O. Box 150, Watkins Glen, N.Y. 14891 ( farmsanctuary.org ). Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home, S.I.
