James H. Parisi
James H. Parisi Mass is Friday for lifelong Staten Islander; Marine Corps veteran James H. Parisi passed away Feb. 1, 2020. James was the oldest son of Italian immigrants, Henry and Grace (Pucillo). He was a native Staten Islander and lived his entire life in West Brighton. He attended McKee Vocational High School. After graduating he joined the U.S. Army Reserves and subsequently transferred to active military service with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Upon honorable discharge he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Joseph H. Merrell American Legion Post in West Brighton and was a lifetime member of the American Veterans Commanders Club and also a Charter Member of the World War II Memorial Society. Mr. Parisi was a retired laborer from Excavators Union Local 713. James was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, the late Mary B. Parisi (Miller). He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Gracemarie, James Jr. and his wife, Patricia, Louis and Gina Marie; his grandchildren, James III, Louis and Daniel and his great-grandchildren, James IV, Marybelle, Vincent and Rowan. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Jr. and sister, Concetta Dalmazio. Family and friends may visit Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave., S.I., on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel - St. Benedicta's Church, Castleton Ave. on Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, S.I. In lieu of flowers, please make donations In Memory of James H.
