Michael Tomao, 91 Loving husband, father and grandfather Michael Tomao, 91 passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at home after a long illness with Parkinsonism. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Michael married his sweetheart, Ida, after serving in the Army. Michael and Ida were married for 63 years and had three children, Peter (former daughter-in-law Margaret), John (Elizabeth), and Rosemary (Joe). He also was the loving grandfather to Meghan, Michael and Christine, who he doted on. They moved to their current residence 54 years ago and raised their family. Michael was a retired food inspector for the City of New York which he worked for over 25 years. He also worked a second job for the US Postal Service for most of that time. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and the occasional trips to Atlantic City. He is also survived by his sister, Jennie, and brother, Frank, and numerous nieces and nephews.
