Connie Gordon Layne, age 79,, of Remlap, Al went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020. He was a beloved husband, father, Pop and friend to all who knew him. He was the retired owner of Layne Paper Company. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He loved shooting and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Layne; and a brother, Larry Layne. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jerri Abbott Layne; his daughter, Kimberly Hope Harris (Curtis); one grandson, Samuel Christian Harris; and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2020 from 12 pm until 1 pm at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Remlap Methodist Cemetery with Rev. James Long officiating.
