Lincoln Jackson Egger
Lincoln Jackson Egger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the age of 81. He was born on February 12, 1938 to Johnnie Vester Egger and Naomi Little Egger. Mr. Egger was a graduate of Sulligent High School. He retired from American Freight after being a truck driver for 30 years. He was a Baptist all his life as a part of New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church, Ninth Avenue Baptist Church, 85th Street Baptist Church and The Church at Liberty Park. He impacted countless lives through years of coaching little league baseball at Wauhoma Park. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred Egger and Billy Egger; and sister, Bernice Hooks. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Franks Egger; daughter, Cynthia Whatley (Tim); son, David Egger (Sonya); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Whatley French (Nate), Kristi Egger Maddox (Ryan), and Nicholas Whatley (Brooke); his great-grandchildren, Cody Maddox, Allie French, and Hannah Maddox; and many family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral services will commence at 3:00pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Otts Funeral Home with Rev. Nate French and Rev. Randy Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow at New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church or The Church at Liberty Park.
