Donald Joseph Schilleci
Donald J. Schilleci entered peacefully into eternity with his LORD on January 12, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church located at 5514 Double Oak Ln, Birmingham, AL 35242. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Mass. Don was born on March 3, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama to parents Frank and Theresa Schilleci. He graduated from Bessemer High School in 1957, after which he served in the Army Reserve. On October 4, 1961, he married the former Mary Anna Wood in Bessemer, Alabama. Don and Mary Anna owned and operated the Port of Call Motel and the Seven Seas restaurant in Panama City Beach, FL for over 30 years before they retired. Don enjoyed playing golf with his friends, good food, traveling, and spending time with his family. In recent years, he also enjoyed the company of his dog Lucky. Don and Mary Anna have been parishioners at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church for many years. Don is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Mary Anna Schilleci, and his two daughters, Maria Schilleci Morrison and her husband Gary Morrison, and Donna Schilleci Bush and her husband David Bush; his five grandchildren, Mallory and Caroline Morrison, Michael, Mary Kathryn and Amelia Bush as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Theresa Schilleci, and his brother Frank Schilleci. Donations can be made in his memory to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
