Jeffery Glen "Jeff" Looney
Jeffery Glen (Jeff) Looney, 56, of Vestavia Hills, AL, went home to be with his Savior on January 13, 2020. Jeff was a proud graduate of Vestavia Hills High School, where he still loved to attend many sporting events. He was a 1985 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where he studied Business. He worked as a financial advisor for over 30 years, helping countless people in the area plan for their futures. He was also a co-founder of the Rebel Football Foundation. As a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, he volunteered in many capacities. Jeff often spent his weekends fishing on the lake, hunting at the family farm, or watching his beloved Auburn Tigers. Jeff is survived by his wife, Bellamy South Looney, daughter, Mary Jayne Looney Reed (Brian), son, Van Looney (Kathryn), parents, Sam Looney (Shelby) and Frances Stanfield, brother, Ben Looney (Caroline), sister, Meredith Looney Cadwell (Justin) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Herb Stanfield. Jeff's life will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills, AL. The visitation will begin at 10 am, and the service will start at noon. A burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to RISE at Vestavia Hills High School, which benefits the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Research Center at UAB: http://www.uab.edu/vhhsrise .
