Harry J. Kratoville Jr.
Harry J. Kratoville Jr. NAPLES - Harry J. Kratoville Jr. passed away unexpectedly at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. Harry was born on Nov. 1, 1930, to the late Harry J. and Dorothy (Howell) Kratoville Sr. in Greenport, N.Y. Harry grew up in Riverhead, N.Y., with his younger brother, John (Louise) and sister, Virginia (Raymond) Taylor, both of whom survive him. Harry proudly served our country in the Korean War from 1953 to1955 as a lieutenant tank commander in the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from Hartwick College with a degree in business and went on to earn a master's degree at the American Institute for Foreign Trade. Harry first worked at Graflex Inc. in Rochester and then at Labelon Corporation in Canandaigua. Harry met the love of his life, Grace Shirley Smith, while they were in college and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. In addition to Shirley, Harry is survived by his children, David (Karin) Kratoville, Karen Kratoville and Steven Kratoville; and grandchildren, Kailee (Derek) Kratoville Lucas, Taylor Kratoville and Kiera Kratoville. A celebration of Harry's life with family and friends will be held at a later date in Naples, where Harry and Shirley lived most of their adult lives.
