Simon Robert Segal
Simon Robert Segal Simon 'Sharper' Segal Simon Robert Segal (aka Sharper), 94, of La Quinta passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019. Simon was born August 17, 1925 to Rebecca Kaplan and Ben Segal in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sadly he was the last remaining member of the greatest generation of Segal brothers and sisters including Katie, Morris, Esther, Isadore, Lou, Mickey and Nelson. He met the love of his life in Robstown Texas and married his Yellow Rose, Jacqueline Hayman, on July 24, 1955. Late in life after mourning the loss of our mother for 13 years he met Joan Cimino and was married in his Assisted Care facility in 2016. From there he had three sons who he guided, empowered and forever inspired. We are the survivors (along with Joan) who carry his memory: Elliott of Aliso Veijo, Aaron of La Quinta and Harry of Indio. He was fortunate to be blessed with 3 daughters-in-law: Kristin (Aliso Viejo), Grace (La Quinta) and Flo (Indio). The apples of his eye were his grand daughters and their husbands. Shelby and Colton Parks, Carly Segal, Juliet and Omar Butcher and Simon's great grand-daughter Isabella Butcher. Services will be held at 12:00 pm Sunday, January 19 at Forest Lawn Memorial in Cathedral City. He was a beautiful man with a heart of gold, tremendous charisma, a ton of chutzpah and a sense of humor that carries us through our mourning and loss.
