Henry A. Thiede, M.D. Pittsford - January 13, 2020. Predeceased in 1990 by his first wife, Florence Konieczny Thiede. Henry is survived by his wife, Ellen Graham Horey-Thiede; two daughters, Patricia Thiede (Rev. Paul Hooker) and Nancy (David) Parcher and granddaughters, Elyse Parcher (Keith Williams, MD) and Jessica Parcher; two step-sons, Brian Horey (Taggerty Patrick) and children Thomas and Casey, Kevin Horey (Karen) and children, Ryan, Meaghan and Colin; dear friend, Susan Graupmann DeLeys (Philip DeLeys). Dr. Thiede was a member of the full time Obs/Gyn faculty at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry for 30 years, that last twenty of which he was the Department Chair. He was also Chair of Obs/Gyn at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine for 7 years and Assistant and then Associate Dean for four years. Dr. Thiede was an active member of various Professional organizations, including past President of both the American Gynecological Obstetrical Society (AGOS) and the Urogynecological Society. Dr. Thiede was a veteran, having served in the US Army. Additionally, Dr. Thiede was a long-time member of Oak Hill Country Club. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 18, 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, 21 Church St., with a reception to follow. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Department of Obs/Gyn at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry or Strong Memorial Hospital. Both are mailed to: University of Rochester Office of Gift and Donor Records, 300 East River Rd, PO Box 270032, Rochester, NY, 14627.
