Patricia Grace "Patty" Kiernan
Patricia "Patty" Grace Kiernan Peekskill - Patricia Grace Kiernan, age 97, of Peekskill, passed away on January 3, 2020. She was born February 13, 1922 in New York City to Ann and Patrick Kiernan. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Edmund and John "Gil" Kiernan and Rosemary Clay, along with her nephew, John William "Bill" Clay II, and his son, John William Clay III. Patricia attended the College of Mount Saint Vincent. She spent the majority of her career as a computer programmer for AT&T. Patricia had a very strong faith that inspired and encouraged those fortunate enough to know her. She was very active in the Catholic Community at both Church of the Holy Spirit and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. She was an incredibly charitable person, frequently volunteering in homeless shelters and soup kitchens as well as driving cancer patients to and from their treatments. In addition to her volunteer work, Patty loved traveling and seeing the world. She also enjoyed being a part of and leading Bible Studies, and she was a very avid reader. She is survived by her two grandnieces, Jennifer Clay Cather and husband John Christian "Chris" and their children, Juliet Wonder and Marilyn Magic, and Susan "Suzy" Clay Maier and husband Steve and their children, Zack, Hannah, Jacob and Luke. She is also survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Trudy Korocz, and Helen Andreyewsky, her dear friend who travelled all over the world with her, as well as many other close friends and the remaining four members of the "Fab Five" from Seton Church; Tere McCue-Fleming, Flo Krupa, Penny Gonzales, and Jean Gallagher. The "Fab Five" started The Parish Book Club, which is still going strong today. A funeral mass celebrating Patricia's life will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18.
