Kathleen D'Ambrosio
Kathleen A. (Minihan) D’Ambrosio, 90, of Springfield passed away January 12, 2020 at Care One at Redstone. Kathleen, daughter of the late John and Loretta (Woodworth) Minihan, was born in Hartford, CT on April 15, 1929. Raised in Springfield, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School. She was a supervisor of the Messenger and Mailroom Department at Baystate Medial Center where she retired after 30 years of service. Kathleen was a social butterfly and was very involved with her neighborhood. She also loved dogs. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ellery E. D’Ambrosio; her son, Thomas D’Ambrosio; her daughter, Patricia D’Ambrosio; her sister, Loretta Starr; and her brother, Donald Minihan. Kathleen will be missed by all who knew her, including her daughter, Marie Hurley and her husband Michael of Springfield; her son, James D’Ambrosio of Chicopee; her grandchildren, Steven and his wife Beth, Mellissa and her husband Eric, Tammy and her husband Tim, Kim, Kevin, Jennifer and her husband Ken, Jeff, and Joseph and his wife Lauren; her 8 great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Visiting Hours for Kathleen will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Sampson’s Funeral Home, 710 Liberty Street, Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11:30 at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
