Hayes Cargill Jr.
Cargill Jr., Hayes Caledonia, MI Hayes Cargill, Jr., age 93, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Hayes proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He worked as an agent for State Farm Insurance for 33 years and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a professional umpire for 33 years and a member of the Golden K Kiwanis and the Michigan Sports Sages. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven; sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Stiehl, Ruth Potapa, Anna (Lester) Pierson; his in laws, Gladys (Harold) Krebs, Keith Blough, Theresa (Charles) Posthumus, Lola (Earl) Posthumus, John (Donna) Johnson, Dolores Posthumus. Hayes will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie "Peggy"; children, Barry (Karen) Cargill, Mark (Marcia) Cargill, Bruce (Georgeanne) Cargill, Jeff (Terri) Cargill, Lori (Gerald) McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Sandy Cargill; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; in laws, Gerald Posthumus, Frances Blough; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17 from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 18, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 3334 Breton Rd. SE with Rev. Virginia Heller officiating. Interment will be on Bowne Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Kindred at Home Foundation.
