Robert Bartula Sr.
Robert W. Bartula, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 12, 2020, with his loving family at his side. Born August 7, 1933, son of the late Frank and Lena (Czepiela) Bartula, he was a lifelong Chicopee resident. A graduate of Chicopee Trade School, Robert worked as a machinist for Smith & Wesson Mfg., and retired after many years of service. He served our country in the National Guard. An avid Red Sox and NY Giants fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing pitch. Robert was a longtime member of the Chicopee Moose Lodge 1849, and the Chicopee Sportsmen Club. Robert was predeceased by his former wife, Carolyn F. Bartula, and his granddaughter, Jennifer Bartula. Robert is survived by his loving children, Robert W. Bartula, Jr. and wife Dolores, Debra A. Bartula, and David Bartula and wife Tracey, all of Chicopee; cherished grandsons, Jeremiah Bartula and wife Sarah and Zachary Bartula, both of Chicopee; great-grandchildren, Alan, Ryan, Jonathan, Noah and Gavin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Chicopee.
