Beuhler, Carolyon Dungan Byrne 10/8/1920 - 1/9/2020 Ann Arbor, MI Carolyon Close Dungan Byrne Beuhler, age 99, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2020. Carolyon was born on October 8, 1920 to Rowena Carmelita Anderson and Carl Matthew Dungan in Moberly, Missouri. After being widowed, Carolyon's mother married Basil Underwood Byrne who adopted Carolyon. The family later moved from Huntington, Indiana to Kent, Ohio. After graduating from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri in 1940, Carolyon transferred to the University of Michigan where she joined the Alpha Phi Sorority. While in Ann Arbor, she met and later married Robert William Byrne on December 28, 1941. Carolyon graduated from University of Michigan in 1948 with a BA in History. Bob and Carolyon moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they raised their family. After being widowed, Carolyon married Robert J. Beuhler on July 5, 1980 and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Carolyon was an avid reader, enjoyed bridge, traveled extensively, and was a lifelong learner. She had a fun sense of humor and loved to dress up for Halloween and other occasions. Carolyon will be remembered for her "tell it like it is" attitude, outgoing personality, and smile. Carolyon was preceded in death by her 9-year-old sister, Mary Anderson Dungan, mother, father, and stepfather; loving husbands, Robert William Byrne, M.D. and Robert James Beuhler; brothers, Richard R. Byrne, M.D. and Donn C. Byrne. Carolyon is survived by her three children, Lynne Krieg, Marsha (Herb) Feyer, Bob (June) Byrne, and stepdaughter, Laurie Beuhler; her grandchildren Michael (Susan) Krieg, Matthew (Kay) Krieg, Carrie (Duffy) Chapie, Jennifer Jump, Amy (Joel) Bodway, Ryan (Shawna) Byrne, and Colin (Lindy) Byrne; her 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister in law, Mary Ann (Mimi) Byrne, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Carolyon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop, PEO Chapter G, Alpha Phi Sorority, and the Ann Arbor City Club. The family would like to thank all of Carolyon's thoughtful and longtime friends and staff at the Glacier Hills Senior Living Community, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The family also would like to express their deep gratitude for all the loving and caring nurses, aides, and staff at Angela Hospice, Livonia, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Glacier Hills, The Manor's Hanson Room, 1200 Earhart Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105. Visitation 1-2 pm with service following.
