Gerard F. Hug Beloved husband, father and grandfather Gerard F. Hug, 76, of Pine Brook, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. Visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Tuesday, Jan. 14, and Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. both days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. in Saint Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, N.J. 07045. Final committal will be private. Born Sept. 10, 1943, in Orange, N.J., Gerard was the son of Joseph and Esther (nee Carmeli) Hug. Raised in West Orange, N.J., after graduating from Our Lady of the Valley High School, Gerard attended Columbia University in New York City. Gerard was founder & managing partner of ProComm Communications, a telecommunications consulting firm specializing in the design and installation of telecommunication systems for multinational corporations. Beloved husband for 53 years of Katherine (nee Iannelli), he was the loving father of Gerard Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, Jeffrey and his wife, Allison, Kimberly Bollo and her husband, Steven, and Melissa McInnis and her husband, Martin; dear brother of Lawrence (Cheryl Sonners) Hug, Barbara Hug, Corinne Pansulla and the late Esther Gegan; brother-in-law of William Gegan and Joseph Pansulla; cherished grandfather of Gerard, Luke, Chase, Mario, Gianluca, Sophia and Michael.
