D.C. "Cecil" Herod Jr Dec. 1, 1929 - Jan. 9, 2020 OKLAHOMA CITY Cecil "Bud" was born in Oklahoma City to Dorah Cecil Herod and Ida Lee (Pitts) Herod. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from SW Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Helen. He is survived by his son, Cecil Herod III and his wife Denise; his daughter, Denise Pinkerton; five grandchildren, Jake Herod, Kelly Leonard, Emily Pinkerton, Lindsay Jennings and Laura Manna; and five great-grandchildren, Merritt, Collin, Claire, Olivia, and Preston. Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services to celebrate his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, in the Annex at Putnam City Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Bethany Cemetery.
