Boerema, Dwight 10/23/1945 - 12/23/2019 Dade City, Florida Dwight (Whitey) G. Boerema , 74, of Dade City, FL, passed away unexpectedly on December, 23, 2019, entering Heaven's gates and meeting the Savior he served most of his earthly life. He was born in Zeeland MI on 10/23/1945, one of eight children, living in the Jamestown/Hudsonville area, before moving to Grand Rapids, MI. During his lifetime, he worked several different jobs, including, mechanic, heavy equipment operator, meat cutter/ store manager, and finally made his career driving a semi truck and owning his own trucking company(s). In 1980, he built a log home in the Hudsonville area where he and MaryJo raised their 2 teenage sons. After retirement and moving to Florida, Dwight spent many hours studying the Word of God, especially as it related to prophecy and what was going on in the world today, looking for the 2nd coming of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father and mother George and Laura Boerema, two brothers, Fred and Clifford, and one sister, Patricia Boerema Fuller. He is survived by his wife, MaryJo Boerema. Sons Michael (Valerie) and Mike's children, Johnathon Boerema and Jessica (Doug) Kurlovich and great granddaughter Charlotte,. Joseph (Heather) and his son, Daniel Boerema. Sister Mary (Pat) Blake, Brothers Ron, Tom and Charles (Janet) Boerema, and brother-in-law, Jerry (Carol) Fuller. Brothers and sisters -in-law: Jerry (Marielos) Good, Tim (Dee) Good, Jon (Sandy Z) Good, Linda (Keith) Keeler, Jane (Mike) Greenfield. Also many loved nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of his life will take place early in the summer of 2020 in the Grand Rapids area. A notice will be in the GR Press with those arrangements.
