In memory of
Patricia G. Arct
Patricia G. Arct Nov. 24, 1931 - Dec. 28, 2019 Patricia Gladys Arct, passed away at her home Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia "Pat" was born in Coquille, Ore., to Melvin and Elva Kathan. They lived all over Oregon before settling for good in Portland, where Pat graduated from Washington High School. While attending Vanport College she met her future husband Jack. They both moved to Corvallis where they attended Oregon State University. This is where she received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She then moved to Southern California where she worked as a teacher and reconnected with Jack. She and Jack were married in 1958 and relocated to San Jose, Calif., where Pat worked as a substitute teacher. They spent many happy years there raising three children. When they retired, they moved back to Portland to be with family. There was nothing Pat took more pleasure in than being with her family and baking. She was an excellent cook, especially known for her pies and cakes. She was an avid bridge player and a loyal friend. Pat will be remembered for her generous nature, her "tell it like it is" attitude, and her ability to make anyone feel welcome in her home. Patricia is survived by her three children, Wayne, Trisha (Craig) and Sharon (Jon); eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. There will be no memorial service. We only ask that you hug your loved ones close and thank Pat for being a part of your life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Knight Cancer Institute at OHSU. Please sign the online guest book at www.oregonlive.com/obits
