Carmella Ann (Barone) Webb
Carmella Ann (Barone) Webb Sept. 15, 1927 - Dec. 10, 2019 Carmella Ann (Barone) Webb, 92, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019. She was born in Yamhill, Ore., the only daugher of four children to Domenic and Angela Barone. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Yamhill- Carlton High School in 1945. After graduation, she moved to Portland were she began her long banking career at First National Bank. (Now Wells Fargo Bank). A year later, she married the love of her life, Vick Webb, in May of 1946. They settled in Southeast Portland and together raised two daughters, Vicki born in 1947 and Kathi born in 1953. When the girls were school age, Carmella returned to the bank where she spent the next 26 years. She started out as a proof machine operator, and after numerous promotions she was made supervisor of customer service of Visa, a new department of the bank. Later she was made an officer of the bank, and promoted to Corporate Affairs Coordinator and secretary to a vice president. Carmella retired in 1985. During their retirement years, Carmella and Vick traveled America extensively. They also enjoyed cruising. Especially treasured was their European vacation which included a visit to Vinchiaturo, Italy, her parents birthplace. Her beloved husband died in 2002 forcing her to make a new life for herself. She joined the Red Hat Society, played golf with a women's group and continued to play Pinochle and Bunco. She took many bus trips with friends to see much of the northwest and was also known to spend happy times going to casinos and trying her luck on the slot machines. In later years, Carmella and her daughters loved taking their annual spring driving trips laughing all the way to destinations such as Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Leavenworth. Summers where spent with her loving family in Sunriver and the Oregon Coast. Carmella was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Wilsonville where she volunteered many hours. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Stewart (Gary) and Kathi Yockey (Sam); four grandchildren, Amy, Chris, Meagan and Meredith; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her three brothers, Tony, Louie and Joe. A private burial took place Dec. 14, 2019, at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial. A funeral Mass and reception will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 9210 S.W. 5th, Wilsonville OR. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Cyril's Catholic Church or Wilsonville Food Bank, 28925 Boberg Road, Wilsonvile, OR. 97070.
