Sandra Picarello, 90 Loved spending time with her grandchildren Sandra Picarello, 90, of New Springville, passed away Jan. 6, 2020, at Staten Island University Hospital North. Born in Brooklyn, she attended P.S. 176 and Fort Hamilton High School. Sandra was married for 65 years to her husband, Carmine Picarello. She was the mother of Nancyann Toth (Steve), Sandra Castania (John), and Nicholas Picarello, and grandmother of James Toth (Leah), Kerry Ryan (Danny), Kara Toth, Michael Castania, Vincent Castania (Sarah), Alyssa Johnson (Raymond), Joseph Picarello, and Gina Picarello. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and visiting Atlantic City. Sandra loved spending time with her grandchildren. Visiting is today, Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Ave., Staten Island, N.Y.
