Maria N. Verwys
Verwys, Maria N. Maria N.VerWys, aged 89, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 1, 2019. Maria was born in Den Haag, The Netherlands and immigrated to America in her young twenties. She was preceded in death by William VerWys and their children Julie, William, and Edward; two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her children, Mary Beth and David Bleeker, John VerWys, Mark and Linda VerWys, Ellen and Terry Whaley, Kathleen and David Heyboer, and Sue VerWys. Her grandchildren are Lynae Bleeker, Drew and Nature Bleeker, Aaron and Melissa Bleeker, Liana and Daniel Rozeboom, Benjamin and Emily VerWys, Jonathon VerWys, Samuel VerWys, Stephanie and Ryan VanBeek, Wendy and Will Ingraham, Robert Heyboer, Maria Heyboer, Abigail Miramon, and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. One of her favorite hobbies was knitting; she lovingly donated her projects to many individuals in need. She also loved to volunteer at the church food bank and Cash For Trash.The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6th at 10:30 am at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, VanStrien-Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield NE with Dr. Joel R. Beeke of the Heritage Reformed Congregation officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 5th from 3-5 p.m. or 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Fairplains Cemetery.
