William Franklin Borom Jr.
William Franklin Borom Jr. Retired Plainfield police officer, devoted to his family William Franklin Borom Jr., 67, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. Bill was a loving husband to Karynn Simpson Borom, and devoted father to four beautiful children, William Damian Borom, Tiffany Marie Borom, Joshua Jackson Borom and Joel Michael Borom. Bill was born and raised in Newark, N.J., to Pearl Mae Stevens Borom and William F. Borom Sr., the youngest of three children. His two sisters, Judy Borom Gadsden and Beverly Borom Hunter, were raised alongside their brother in Newark, where Bill attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and then finally graduated from Weequahic High School. Bill moved to Plainfield, N.J., and after graduating from the Union County Police Academy, he joined the Plainfield Police Department Traffic Division, and for the next 30 years, dedicated his life to defending and protecting the City of Plainfield. He will be remembered for strength, honor and devotion to his family. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, N.J., today, Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m., and on Monday, Dec. 2, at Blessed Sacrament - St. Charles Borromeo Church, 610 Clinton Ave., Newark, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, with Funeral Mass beginning at 12 noon.
