William H. Ostermeyer Navy veteran, avid golfer; enjoyed spending time with family William H. Ostermeyer, 87, of Union, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at the Brighton Gardens Assisted Living, Mountainside, N.J. Born on March 20, 1932, in Elizabeth, N.J., to the late Oskar and Marie Ostermeyer, William served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed golf, especially playing at the Galloping Hill Golf Course. William loved spending time on the computer, but most important to him was spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. William is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and her husband, Howard Markel; son and daughter-in-law, William M. and Jennifer Ostermeyer; six grandchildren, William J. Ostermeyer, Lena Ostermeyer, Marta Ostermeyer, Bernadette Ostermeyer, Jessica Hawley, Graham Markel, as well as four great-grandchildren, Colin Hawley, Brynn Hawley, Sean Hawley and Dylan Markel.
