Olive Vivian Granitzki Devoted to her family, she 'always had a smile for everyone' Olive Vivian (Anger) Granitzki, age 91, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019. Olive's memorial and visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford, N.J. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 205 North Ave. E., Cranford, with the Rev. Andrew Kruger, Rector, officiating. Olive was born in Garwood, N.J., to the late Joseph and Bernarda (Wilkelman) Anger. Olive graduated from the Garwood Schools and Jonathan Dayton Regional High School. Upon graduation in 1946, Olive was employed by Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, N.J. She participated in numerous activities in the Westfield Women's Club and YWCA, Pinochle and Bridge clubs and the Roselle Women's Golf Tournaments. Olive enjoyed spending summer vacations with her family at South Seaside Park and Long Beach Island, and visiting her brother-in-law, Gustav Granitzki, and his family in Manteo, N.C., and especially enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren. Olive and her late husband, Elmer, enjoyed winter vacations golfing with friends at Calloway Gardens, Pine Mt., Ga., for over 25 years. She was also a longtime member of the Roselle Golf Club since 1983. Olive was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Cranford where she was baptized and married Elmer on March 31, 1950. Olive was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Elmer, and her brother, Robert B. Anger. Olive is survived by her three children: daughter, Bonnie and husband, Stewart Gold, of North Carolina, and grandchildren, Joanne and Jennifer; son, James and wife, Katherine, of New Jersey, and grandchildren, Rich and wife, Melissa, and great-granddaughter, Ella Jane; James Jr. and wife, Kristen, and Patrick and wife, Lanea; and son, David and wife, Judith, of New Jersey, and grandchildren, Kelsie, and Alison Johnson and husband, Mike Grim. Olive always had a smile for everyone everywhere she went. She was always happy, grateful, and full of love and devotion to her family. Her family near and far celebrated many memorable birthdays, Thanksgivings and Christmases around her dining room table. We will always cherish the amazing woman she was, and she will always be a part of who we all are today.
