In memory of
Pamela Ann (Parker) Lawrence
Mrs. Pamela Ann Parker Lawrence of Port St. Joe, FL (and more recently Eufaula, AL) passed away peacefully on Tuesday Nov. 26, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Pam was born in Port St. Joe on Dec. 31, 1957 to the late Tom and Louise Parker. She had 2 sisters, Donna Parker Capps (Donald) of Satellite Beach, FL; Joy Parker Underwood (John) of Tallahassee, FL; and a brother, Tres Parker (Pamela) of Troy, AL. Pam married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Steve Lawrence in 1977, and together they have two daughters, Kristi Lawrence Weeks (Billy) of Montgomery, AL; and Leigh Lawrence Parrish of Eufaula, AL. Steve and Pam also have 2 grandchildren who are the joys of their life, Will and Ann Louise Weeks of Montgomery, AL. After a career working with children in the State of Florida, along with many years at the STAC House alongside her mother, Erma Louise; Pam continued her work as the ultimate homemaker, wife, and mother. Her ability to make a house a home, garden, and host a wonderful southern party was second to none. She was overflowing with the joy of the Lord, and it showed through in everything she did and everyone she met. She had an innate ability to make everyone in her presence feel welcomed and important. She graduated from Port St. Joe High School in 1975 alongside her sweetheart, Steve. To this day, she continues to value the friendships of her classmates, and has been responsible for organizing many class reunions over the years to keep those relationships strong. She was very proud to be from Port St. Joe and would tell everyone she met that was where she was from, even though she lived in Eufaula, AL for the last 8 years. She loved the history of the community of Port St. Joe and she loved the waters of Port St. Joe; and she inherited that love from her father, Tom "Dooder" Parker. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe. She was actively involved in teaching Sunday School for many years, as well as, all aspects of the youth program. She was married in First Baptist Church and was proud that 4 generations of her family was baptized there. In 2011, Pam and Steve moved to Eufaula, AL. In true form, she quickly endeared herself to the community and became involved in several clubs and organizations. These last 8 years Pam made some of the sweetest friendships of her life. She was actively involved in the NewComers Club, The Eufaula Pride Association, and the Camellia Garden Club. She was constantly hosting teas, coffees, brunches, or any other gathering at her home. She was proud to have her home as part of the Annual Eufaula Pilgrimage and Christmas Tours. Her warmth and southern hospitality were always on full display. Pam and Steve, while missing Port St. Joe, have come to love and appreciate the community and people of Eufaula as their new home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. EST, Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at Oak Grove Church with Reverend Jim Gainnie officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
