BURLINGTON - Ms. Dianne Poteat, 62, was born December 15, 1956 in Burlington, NC and departed this life on November 24, 2019 at the Brian Center of Yanceyville, NC. Dianne was the daughter of Mrs. Ruby L. Bagley and Rufus T. Poteat, both deceased. Dianne worked in the hosiery industry for many years. She loved music, dancing, reading and her family. In school Dianne loved to race, so she joined the track team where she won numerous awards. She also enjoyed watching her favorite football team play: The Dallas Cowboys with her sister Ann and brother in law Keith. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and son in law: Minister Gregory T. Rudd Sr. She will truly be missed by her daughter: LaTangeia Rudd, grandchildren: Jessica Rudd and Gregory T. Rudd Jr.; sister: Angela Poteat Medley (Keith); brother: Larry D. Poteat; nephews: Carl. Poteat, Centellas O. Poteat and Cedric Poteat (Alisia); niece: Niki Poteat Johnson (Corey) and a host of great nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 3:00pm. Visitation will be held from 2:30-3:00. Public viewing will be held from 1-8pm in the Mary Blackwell Chapel Saturday, November 30th. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be posted to blackwellfuneral.com .
