Scott Williamson, 61 Learned he loved art and painting at local S.I. grade school Scott Williamson, 61, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on Sept. 13, 2019 due to complications of bladder cancer. The Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Our Lady Star of Sea Church. Scott was born in Staten Island on June 5, 1958. He graduated from Our Lady Star of the Sea in 1972 and Monsignor Farrell High School in 1976. He attended Pace University for a brief time but left to pursue his dream of being an artist. He attended the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Mass. Scott worked in sales, however, for the past eight years he took to his passion and began teaching people who wanted to learn painting. Scott continued to produce great artwork until his illness became too overwhelming. Scott's passion for art is shown in all of the pieces he created. He loved teaching his niece, Helen, the techniques of painting. Scott was an avid traveler; he loved Bette Davis movies, David Bowie music, a good margarita, and his dog, Otto. He had a quick, biting tongue but was a very fun, loving man. Scott is survived by his partner of 18 years, Tom Zinn; his sister, Lori (Williamson) Hagemann, and his nephew and niece, Patrick and Helen Hagemann. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Helen (Lawler) Williamson.
