Joan Klingler
Joan L. Klingler went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Arden Courts. Joan lived a full and traveled life. Being the oldest of five children born to Verna and Martin Klingler of McClure, Snyder County. She attended Susquehanna University and transferred to Lebanon Valley College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Math, and History. Joan traveled the world including Australia, Kenya, Germany, and countries in South America. Joan was a missionary with Latin American Missions Organization, ministering to Costa Rica, Columbia, Germany, and to native Americans in Arizona. Her nieces and nephews remember fondly receiving exotic gifts from around the world from their Aunt Joan. After her missionary work she traveled the world and upon retiring from the missionary field, she taught English as a second language (Spanish) in the York County School District. Joan was musically inclined and especially enjoyed Christian music. She was active in many organizations including Daughters of the American Revolution. She was loved by her family and enjoyed researching her family's genealogy and family tree. Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting, making many warm presents for her family, and crossword puzzles. Joan was loved and will be missed. Joan was predeceased by her brothers, Richard B. Klingler of Hummelstown and Benson D. Klingler formerly of Hershey. She is survived by her two sisters, Patricia R. Cassel of Hummelstown and Janet K. Boyer of Harrisburg; 8 nieces and 4 nephews. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
