LaVerna M. Harrington May 19, 1929 - Nov. 2, 2019 LaVerna May (Colpitts) Harrington passed away peacefully Nov. 2, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. LaVerna was born in Stanfield, Ore., May 19, 1929, to parents Thomas Roy Colpitts and Doris Lillian Colpitts (Fletcher). Her family later moved to North Powder, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1947. She attended Oregon State University. LaVerna and her sweetheart Chet were married in 1950. Together, they ran a successful residential home building company while raising a family of four children. She loved spending time at the beach and the family mountain cabin. Over the years, LaVerna was a Little League scorekeeper, Camp Fire leader, art student, painter, 9-hole Ladies golfer, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Paula Wells, Dana Freeman and Clay Harrington; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Doris Colpitts; her husband, Chet Harrington; and her daughter, Linda Vidan.
