Mary Ashburn Koch Scarborough Evansville - Mary Ashburn Koch Scarborough, 73, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born December 4, 1945 in Evansville, IN to the late George Ashburn and Mary Jane (Bonham) Koch. Mary Ashburn was a graduate of Harrison High School and Evansville College. She was self- employed as a writer. Mary Ashburn is survived by her daughters, Shantelle C. Stephens, and her husband, John Wallace, of Bailey, CO and Shalom C. Stephens, and her husband, Mike Bober, of Las Vegas, NV and a son, James Kahlil Lewis, and his boyfriend, Brett Knudsen, of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mary Ashburn's longtime friend, Larry Lewis of Wayne City, IL. In addition to her parents, Mary Ashburn was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Anne Koch. As per Mary Ashburn's wishes, there will be no services at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday the 13th, with details to come.
