Debby Byk Newport Beach - (JULY 19, 1931 - OCT. 2, 2019) Debby Byk passed away peacefully on October 2, 2019 in Newport Beach, CA. Born in The Bronx, NY on July 19, 1931, she studied at Hunter College and UT El Paso. Upon her return to New York, she accepted a job in The Empire State Building. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ed Byk. They married and shared 63 wonderful years together until his passing in 2017. Settling in Lake Success, NY, they raised their sons, Curt and Ken. Debby was an education advocate while raising her sons - family was her top priority. She loved tennis, entertaining, and shopping in search of great deals. But more than anything, she thrived on creating a happy home for her family. In 1991, Debby and Ed relocated to Palm Desert, CA to be closer to their sons. They built a new life with wonderful friends and fun activities. Debby continued to enjoy entertaining - always warmly welcoming friends in their home. Debby retained her bright spirit to the end. She was feisty, witty, and warm - adored by family and friends. There could not have been a more devoted wife, mom, and grandmother - her family was her greatest joy! She will be sorely missed, but leaves a legacy of loving memories. She is survived by son Curt (Janet) and granddaughters Hayley and Tara of Fountain Valley, CA and son Ken of Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA.
