Patricia "Patsy" Morris
Patricia 'Patsy' Morris, 89 Patricia "Patsy" Morris, 89, died Nov. 2, 2019, at Golden Gate Nursing Home surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen Dessoye and survived by her children, Betty Ann Shapiro, Charles Garrett, Grace Mary Garrett and Joseph Dessoye. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Patsy was born in Staten Island and lived in West Brighton until her retirement from St Vincent's Hospital where she worked in the admitting office for over 30 years. She relocated to Florida in 1994 until February of this year when she became ill and needed to be closer to her family. "Strong and independent, the life of the party, I like to think I take after her" said her granddaughter Karyn Bello. "You were always my safe place, the first person to tell me about myself when I showed up and showed out," says her granddaughter Trisha Talaba. The family will be hosting a memorial to celebrate Patsy's life at the home of her daughter Betty Ann Shapiro on Sunday, Nov 10. They will be receiving friends and family from 1 to 5 p.m. Patricia Morris will be interred in Fort Myers next to her son, Stephen Dessoye.
