In memory of
Nov. 21, 1943 - Sept. 26, 2019
Ed was a Roosevelt graduate (1961), Vietnam Veteran, PSU graduate (1971), employee of NW Natural and an archery hunter. Ed believed in supporting his family and friends. He rarely asked for help, but was the first to pitch in when others were in need.
His biggest love outside of family was "Forest Park." He was there in the sun, rain and snow. In 30+ years he logged approx. 50,000 miles. It was truly his home away from home.
Ed leaves his wife, Mary; children, John and Scott Shackleton, Kelly Miller; grandchildren, Cate and Sean Miller and Shelby and Henry Shackleton.
Ed died of Alzheimer's, a devastating disease. Ed was a brain tissue donor to an OHSU program managed by the Neuropathology Core of the Layton Aging & Alzheimer's Disease Center. Our family would like others to consider this organ donation option as a way to speed up the research so badly needed to fight and someday find cures for dementia diseases. The more we all support this work the sooner we can get there for the generations that follow.
Thank you, The Shackleton and Miller families.
