Nancy Bard
Nancy Booher Bard passed away peacefully on October 12, 2019. Born in Germany Valley, PA on October 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Leona Staubs Booher. Throughout her life, Nancy was an avid reader, inquisitive listener and loyal friend. During her husband's United States Air Force career, she volunteered as an English teacher's aide in Ryukuan schools and as a Gray Lady at Travis Air Force Base Medical Facility. She was a private secretary at AMP, Inc. in its early years and last worked at The Book Of The Month Club. Nancy was a devoted wife to husband Larry for 65 years (He and their eldest son "Tom" predeceased her.) Nancy was fascinated with genealogy and was a member of the Huntingdon County Historical Society, Fort Shirley Historical Society and Cumberland County Historical Society. She was a member of the Shirleysburg Methodist Church and attended Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Surviving are children, Laryn, Timothy, Lewis, and Samantha; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Michael, William, Joshua and Benjamin; great-grandchildren Joshua, Tyler, Tanner and James; and also one great-great-granddaughter, Lilliana. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Gladys Love. Services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, 2135 Ritner Hwy., Carlisle, PA 17015 with Rev. Richard Noggle officiating. Burial will be held in the Germany Valley Brethren Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
