Victor I. Ruiz
Victor I. Ruiz Victor I. Ruiz, 75, passed away on October 21, 2019 after a short illness. He was born in Indio on March 25, 1944 to Ignacio V. Ruiz and Paula Baray Ruiz. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Yolanda; his brother Tom Ruiz, his sisters Emily Ramirez, Margie Caplette, and Becky Stephens; his children - Mark Ruiz, Greg Ruiz, Amy Ruiz-Lopez, Alex Ruiz, Oliver Alvarez and Jacob Alvarez; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Victor joined the United States Army in January of 1962 and served in the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment and assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. He was proud to have served his country "All the way!". He later made a career out of being a building inspector for the County of Riverside. Victor loved the Lord and attended Connected to the Vine Christian Church. He attended weekly bible studies and was actively involved in the church for many years. He loved his grandchildren very much and was very involved in their lives. The entire family including his loyal dog, Jack, will miss Victor. Viewing will be open to the public at Forest Lawn in Indio on Tuesday, November 5th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn in Indio on Wednesday, November 6th at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service held at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:15 PM. There will be a celebration of Life at Desert Christian Community Church in Thousand Palms beginning at 3:30 PM.
