Frank Joseph Chafel, M.D. Rochester - Frank Joseph Chafel, M.D., 91 years (12/29/1927 to 10/6/2019). Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Frank was the only child of Marky Chafel and Teresa (Tess) Turiano. He attended the University of Rochester, and proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. Frank graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his M.D. degree from University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He did his OB/GYN residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. He practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for 35 years in Rochester, NY, helping to bring many babies into the world. Frank enjoyed playing golf, bowling, listening to music, and spending time with his family. Frank spent the last years of his life in Clermont, FL, relaxing and enjoying the sunshine close to family and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa (Terry), his sister-in-law Hedy, and brother-in-law Thomas. He is survived by his sister-in-law Laurie, brother-in-law Richard, nephew Marty, many cousins, his 5 children, Theresa, Anthony, Christina, Lisa (Gavin), and Maria (Frederick), and his 4 grandchildren, Corbin, Isabella, Ian, and Tessa. He is laid to rest, alongside his wife and mother, in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY, at a private family service.
