In memory of
Elizabeth Jean "Betty" (Imrie) McMillen
Betty McMillen, born Elizabeth Jean Imrie, died peacefully on Oct. 5, 2019. Betty was born in Berkeley, California, in 1938. She attended San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California, and graduated from College of the Pacific in 1960. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, Rick McMillen. They were devoted to each other for 59 loving years. Upon moving to Fort Bragg in 1968, she became an active member of the community. She was involved in her children's schools and the Timberwolf Booster Club, served as a deacon and an elder in her church and worked as a teacher at Little Lamb's Preschool, as well as helping Rick run his dental practice. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Betty, and her brother, Rick Imrie. In addition to her husband, Rick, Betty is survived by her three children, Steve, Mike and Molly; and her two brothers, John and Jim Imrie. She adored her six grandchildren, who all learned from her warm, loving, and generous spirit. Betty embraced being a redhead, both beautiful and fun in equal measure. Her kind and gracious heart will be missed. A celebration of her life will be held in November at the Little River Inn. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Mendocino Coast Sports Foundation, P.O. Box 2812, Fort Bragg CA 95437 or timberwolfstadium.org.
