Julius Rendinaro
Julius Rendinaro, 89 Founded Darwood Associates; great-grandfather of three Julius Rendinaro, 89, longtime New Dorp resident, passed peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019. Born in Port Chester, N.Y., he attended Boys High School and received a bachelor's degree from Baruch College. Julius served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Dix, N.J., as a rifle instructor during the Korean War. A Wall Street executive, he founded Darwood Associates, a brokerage firm, in 1971 . A former president and longtime board member of the Italian Club of Staten Island, Julie spearheaded the Annual Christmas Basket Food Drive and was a member of the Richmond Lions Club. He also represented Staten Island on the NYC Economic Development Committee . Julius' wife, Carolyn (nee Bertucci), passed away in December 2010. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey, Gerard, John, and Peter; sisters, Marie Lanza and Laura Catalfamo; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Charles Church on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9:15 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery .
