Louis Dellavalle
Louis Dellavalle, 82 Navy veteran, IBEW electrician, active at Great Kills Yacht Club Louis Dellavalle-born Louis Caputo in Stapleton on Staten Island, passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2019. Louis was a lifelong resident of New Dorp, S.I., until recently moving to Monroe, N.J. in 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, June, in May of 2019. Louis proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed on various aircraft carriers during the 1950's. Subsequent to the Navy, he attended trade school, becoming a licensed electrician working for the IBEW Local 3. Louis could often be seen on Staten Island repairing traffic signals. He also repaired and restored lights on the Verrazano Bridge. Louis was a life member of the Great Kills Yacht Club and served on the Beautification Committee for many years. His joy in life was spending his days fishing with his family and friends on his boat "Sleepy II." Louis will be remembered for his gentle manner, sweet smile, kind demeanor and willingness to help anyone. Louis was predeceased by his beloved grandson, James Connolly, and son-in-law Anthony Bono. Louis is survived by his siblings, Catherine (Dolly) Gann and James Dellavalle; his children, Robyn Bono, Lori-Ann Connolly and Louis Dellavalle Jr.; eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
