Lillian McKeon Garby Former longtime resident of Elizabeth and Hawaii Lillian McKeon Garby, of Warrenton, Va., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at her home in Virginia. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, Sept. 12. Funeral Mass is at St. Peter & Paul R.C. Church, 211 Ripley Pl., Elizabeth, N.J., at 10 a.m. Interment is in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Arrangements by August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth. Lillian was born in Elizabeth, lived in Elizabeth for much of her life before moving to Hawaii, returned to Elizabeth and moved to Virginia last year. She was employed as a civilian worker in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, for many years before retiring years ago. She was a communicant of St. Peter & Paul R.C. Church, Elizabeth. Lillian graduated St. Patrick's High School, Elizabeth, as valedictorian of her class, and was a member of the Downtowns Vets, Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her husband, William T. Garby, who died in 1989; her sister, Rose Murzinski; and brothers,Walter and William McKeon. She is survived by her nephews, William M. McKeon, and Vincent and William Murzinski.
