Geraldine R. Edwards
Geraldine R. Edwards Geraldine R. Edwards, 87, a Traditions of Hanover resident, formerly of Bushkill Township, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 05, 2019, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late John T. Edwards, with whom she shared 59 loving years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Geraldine and John spent most of their married lives in the home they built on the Edward's family farm. Geraldine recently found a new home and family at the Traditions of Hanover, which gave her much joy in the final months of her life. Born in Painesville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Milburn and Marion (McKelvey) Pike. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1950. Geraldine was employed by the former Pioneer Sportswear in Nazareth, PA, where she worked as a seamstress for more than 20 years. Following her career in the garment industry, she worked as a receptionist for her daughter, before retiring. Geraldine enjoyed attending community events and family gatherings. She was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed quilting and sewing. Geraldine was an excellent cook and was well known for her delicious brownies. She was a member of the Nazareth Community Chorus, Star Grange 993, Moorestown, and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth, where she was a proud member of the Philethia Choir. Geraldine also loved animals and cherished the many pets she welcomed into her home throughout the years. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her family; son, Attorney Philip J. Edwards and his wife, Shelly, of Wyomissing; daughter, Dr. Heather J. Edwards, of Easton; grandchildren, Jessica and Jack Edwards, both of Wyomissing; brother, Thomas Pike and his wife, Shirley, of Montana; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Reph, of Danielsville, and Catherine Pike, of Nazareth; her beloved pet cat, Julie; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, John, she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Pike, as well as two sisters, Gwendolyn Reinert and Beverly Whytock. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 09, 2019, at 12 Noon in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday morning from 10:30 A.M. to 12 Noon in the church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Moorestown. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., Village of Moorestown - Bath. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth. George G.
