Jeannine Borkowski
Jeannine Borkowski, 74 Beloved mother and grandmother, had long teaching career Jeannine Borkowski, Staten Island native, died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sept. 4, 2019. Born on Aug. 1, 1945, Jeannine was the daughter of the late Theresa and Peter Spatafora. She is survived by two children, Alexis (Borkowski) Buttermark and Douglas Borkowski Jr., in addition to two grandchildren, Donald and William Buttermark. She is also survived by one sister, Camile (Spatafora) Vitagliano. Jeannine was a graduate of Port Richmond High School, and went on to graduate from Notre Dame Academy, where she received a degree in education. Jeannine returned to Port Richmond to teach English. She later taught in Camelot Education, where she simultaneously received her master's at Kean University. Jeannine retired just to return as a professor at the College of Staten Island. Jeannine was also an avid skier and member of the Staten Island Ski Club.
