In memory of
Thomas W. McSweeney Jr.
Thomas "Tom" W. McSweeney Jr., 77, of Byram Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Springfield, MA to the late Thomas W. McSweeney Sr. and Edith (Roberge) McSweeney. He worked as a machinist at Berkshire Industries and Jet Tool for many years. He also worked for Stewart Sandwiches and was known as "The Cookie Man," delivering sandwiches and snacks all over New England. Roma Pizza and Mrs. Murphy's Donuts were his two favorite food groups. He was an avid New England Sports Fan and absolutely loved the Boston Red Sox. You could find him relaxing on the porch overlooking the lake, playing his trumpet, jamming along with the bullfrogs to his favorite tunes. If you needed a good laugh, Tom had the perfect joke to make you smile. He will surely be missed by many. Tom is survived by his daughters, Kathleen McSweeney of Granville, MA, Kelly Diaz and her husband Aaron Diaz of Westfield, MA, three sisters, Diane Darin, Edith McSweeney and Linda Dexter. His uncle Warren Roberge and his wife Mary Roberge. Many nieces and nephews, Steven, David, Andrea, Sarah, Mary and Matthew. His loving companion Penny Annuik. And his grandchildren who brought a smile to his face as well to his heart, John, Karley and Abbey. A Celebration of Life will take place September 21, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at The American Legion, Post 338 at 46 Powder Mill Road, Southwick, MA 01077.
