Thomas Batte BLOOMFIELD - Thomas Batte, 81, passed away on Aug. 25, 2019, at F. F. Thompson Hospital. Tom was born in Canandaigua to the late Earl and Helen Simmonson Batte. He was a graduate of Bloomfield Central School and had been employed by Sybron, in Rochester, for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and an NFL fan. Survivors include his wife, Jean Chappell Batte; son, William Batte; brothers, Jerry (Jean) Batte; sisters, Sue (Paul) Luckman, Edith (Bob) Douglas and Nancy Patz; sisters-in-law, Jean Batte, Patricia (Anthony) Villanucci, Joan (Charlie Cross) D'Agostino and Joanne (Wilbur) Thornton; brothers-in-law, William (Rosemary) Chappell and Michael Chappell; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edward; brothers, William and Robert Batte; and sisters, Elthea King Spiegel and Ann VanDussen. There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget's Church, 15 Church St., Bloomfield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute directly to the family.
