Isabell Hills
Isabell Janet Peterson Hills, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on October 31, 1927 to Ernest Lewis Peterson and Lena Elva Enos, Isabell was the fifth of seven siblings. She received her education in the Harrisburg City School system. In October 1949 she married Charles Hills. To this union two sons were born, Charles (Greg) and Raymond (Chuck). Isabell was employed by the Navy Ship Parts Control Center and retired after 30 years of service. Isabell devoted her life to her family and dearly loved her sons and found great joy in her grandchildren. She was an awesome cook and truly enjoyed preparing the holiday meals. Isabell is predeceased by her parents; son Raymond; siblings Kenneth, Leonard, Raymond, Harold Peterson, Elvetta Porter and Carvella Jenkins; two grandsons, Kevin and Michael Hills. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Charles (Brenda) Hills of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one grandson, Gregory Hills of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; four granddaughters: Teresa Davis of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Gretchen Hills and Gabrielle Smith both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Porsche Brooks of Jacksonville, Florida; two sister-in-laws Lorraine Peterson and Rebecca Peterson both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. A Graveside Service was held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Dr. Josephine Palmore. www.pennlive.com/obits
