In memory of
Shirley Anne Warren Hays
Shirley Anne Warren Hays Palm Springs - Shirley Anne Warren Hays crossed over to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2019. She was 85 years old. She was dearly loved by her husband Donald Charles Hays, her daughters Amanda Peek Wellford (Hal) and Abigail Peek Waddell, (Bill), stepdaughter Cynthia Lee Hays, and grandchildren Warren Phillips (Angela), Rebecca and Harry Wellford, and Davis and Keith Waddell. Shirley was a native of Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Hamilton High School and the University of Southern California, where she majored in art and was a proud sister in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She lived in California her entire life and had moved 15 years ago to La Quinta, an area that she particularly enjoyed. She treasured the beauty of the desert each day and especially treasured the friendships that she made through the groups that were so important to her: Palm Desert Community Church, The Junior League of the Palm Springs Desert Communities, Pi Phi Desert Cities, Trojan League of the Desert, and PGA West golf and bridge groups. She was an accomplished athlete in the sports of tennis and golf. An entrepreneur, she was the founder and owner of The New Elbow, a medical device that alleviates elbow pain due to athletic and occupational injuries. She was an authentic, warm, kind, and generous person who put the Lord first, her family second, and especially loved to tout the accomplishments of her five beloved grandchildren. Her friends made her days full of joy and meaningful activity. A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn, 1712 S. Glendale Ave, Glendale, CA 91205 on Saturday, August 17 at 2:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The Junior League of the Palm Springs Desert Communities, PO Box 2196, Palm Desert, CA 92261.
