Vincent P. "Jimmy" Caselli
Vincent P. 'Jimmy' Caselli, 80 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle Vincent "Jimmy" Caselli passed away on July 11, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 17, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late John and Mary Caselli. After Ft. Hamilton High School, he enlisted in the Army Reserve. In 1963 he met and married Veronika Edel, a native Islander, and moved to Staten Island in 1965. He owned and operated a Brooklyn luncheonette with his father for several years. He retired after 45 years as supervisor/foreman in the bookbindery industry. Vincent loved spending time with his family, was an avid sports fan, and loved cooking his famous dishes for family and friends. He also enjoyed his many years of coaching and managing baseball and softball in GKLL, PAL, and Babe Ruth leagues. In earlier years he enjoyed horseback riding with his horse, Melody. He is survived by his wife Veronika "Ronnie," of 54 years, his son, John (Ellen) Caselli, daughter, Liza (Bill) Ferri and four grandchildren, Vincent, James, Britney and Joseph, along with many nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law and their husbands. The viewing was at Hanley Funeral Home. A Mass at St. Patrick's Church, Richmondtown, was offered, followed by interment at Moravian Cemetery. He will be deeply missed by all and will lovingly remain in our hearts forever.
