In memory of
Anna Mae King
Heaven gained another angel on June 20, 2019 when Anna Mae King of Mary Esther, Florida went home to be with the Lord. Born and raised in East Tennessee, Anna led a life of fun and laughter. During her career she worked for Hoover Ball Co. in Johnson City, TN; Campbell Soup in Sumter, SC; and Vitro Services and Pan Am on Eglin Air Force Base. Anna married the love of her life, Buford, in 1954. She embraced her life as an Air Force wife and traveled the globe with Buford. Together they raised three wonderful children. Anna was a faithful member of the Mary Esther United Methodist Church for over 45 years. She loved to socialize, shop, and spend time with her family and friends. Those who knew her best would remember her best as a kind and generous soul, with a love for others, and a hilarious sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Capt. Buford King; parents Edmond and Pearl Wyatt; siblings Myrtle Banks, Nola Phillips, and Garner Morgan. She is survived by her loving children who were at her side until the end: Sherry (Stephen) Bowles, Michael (Sharon) King, and Cara (Donald) House. Grandchildren include Amie (Jason) Urban; Christin (Terry) Stephens; Michael (Brandy) King; and Dyllan, Justice, and Savannah House; and great-grandchildren, Cayleigh and Colton Stephens; and Elijah and Aubreanna King. Special thanks to the Rev. Sam Parkes; caregiver and dear friend Mary Hill; Covenant In-Patient Hospice at Sacred Heart Pensacola; Dr. Terry Neill and Nurses at Sacred Heart Pensacola; Dr. Mark Tenholder; and Dr. James P. Wilson. Anna will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all whose life she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Mary Esther United Methodist Church, 703 E Miracle Strip Pkwy, Mary Esther, Florida. All family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mary Esther United Methodist Church in Anna's name.
