Doyle Francis Vantrease
Doyle Francis Vantrease Nolensville, TN - Age 90, devoted Christian, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and son, returned to his Savior and lost loved ones on Friday, July 12, 2019. One of 12 Vantrease children, Doyle grew up in Watertown, TN and married straight out of the Army at 19 years old, having served in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a grocer, a dairy manager and a hardware man, but was always a farmer at heart, having started as a child and eventually retiring to 13 acres with hogs, cows and expansive gardens in Nolensville. Throughout it all, he was a faithful servant of Christ, serving as a Deacon of the church for over 50 years, and of his family. Both brought him joy beyond measure until the very end. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy; his parents, Walter & Dessie Mae; and 6 siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Kathleen; his sons, David and Steve; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; & 6 siblings. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation Monday 6-8 p.m. & Tuesday 10-11 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 615-331-1952.
